Interview With Erica Miriam Fabri

What advice do you wish you had gotten as a teen?

I don't think any advice could have changed much. I was a stubborn teen. I needed to learn through experiences of error, hurt, and consequences of mistakes made by myself and made by people I was close to.

Tell us about a time when you were brave, or bravery was required of you, or you saw someone else being brave.

Every time I forgive I feel brave. And every act of Love also feels like an act of courage for me.

How do you start a poem? Give us a window into your process.

I let the poem find me. Sometimes someone says something that moves me and I quote them, tell their story, and make it a poem. Sometimes I see something that makes me imagine something amazing, or something terrible. I write down the fantasy I imagine and I make it a poem.

What is your motto for getting through the tough times?

       Remember that you are blessed.
